Exploring Paris on foot

Yes, that is us, me and my husband, photographing Paris. Returning after many years I was caught off guard — with a feeling and emotion that rose unexpectedly. Enough to bring tears to my eyes.
Seeing the pinkish-yellow stone houses with their many floors, their fancy balconies and the typical high French chimneys, the covered terraces on the street corners… the sunlight, falling through the leaves of the sycamores … Being there again made me cry audibly and visibly with happiness. 😉
Although some news articles about invaders and strangers flooding and demolishing the place had made me fear that Paris was lost and gone, it appeared to me as beautiful and wonderful as ever.

Below a selection of the many photos we made together when on our city trip to Paris. Per usual, my focus was on the many architectural details and ornaments, street views and terraces, while Gert-Jan made the more wide angled photos. We avoided the metro and daily walked almost 40.000 steps in order to miss out on nothing and see as much as possible.

Oh the richness and beauty of that city! Please let it be preserved for future generations.
